There are a couple of ways that you can start a forum discussion.

The easiest way is to use the Quick Add feature. When signed into a network you should see the Quick Add drop-down menu near the top of the right column. To quickly add a new discussion, select Discussion from the list and a pop-up menu should appear. Once you've entered your title, forum post, and picked the category for the post to appear in click Start Discussion to complete the process.

If you'd like additional options, such as uploading a file with your post or choosing tags, you can click the More Options link that appears on the Quick Add pop-up window. You can also access this page by clicking on the Forum tab and then on the "Start a New Discussion" link.

There are a few ways to add music to your My Page.

Add music from your computer

The easiest way is to use the Quick Add feature. When signed into a network you should see the Quick Add drop-down menu near the top of the right column. To quickly add music, select Music from the list and a pop-up menu should appear. Click the Browse button to locate your audio file on your computer. Once you've selected your file click Add Music to complete the process.

If you'd like to upload multiple audio files at once or you want to include meta information such as title, artist, and privacy settings for each track you can use the Bulk Media Uploader. To use the bulk uploader sign into the network, go to your My Page and click the "Add Music" link at the bottom of the player.

You can upload up to 100 total songs in the mp3 format. Each can be up to 20MB in size. To use the bulk uploader, simply drag the files from the column on the left into the preview pane on the right. Alternatively, you can click "Return to our simple uploader" to upload fewer files at a time.

Add music from another website

If you find a podcast or song that you like on another website, you can copy the URL (i.e. the web address) and post it to the music player on your profile page. Simply go to the "Add Music" page and click the "More Information" link at the bottom of the page. Then paste in the URL of the song or podcast you would like to add.

Add music from another page on the network

If you hear a song you like, either on the main page or another member's profile page, just click the "Add to My Page" link, which shows at the top of the music player. That song will be automatically added to your page.

To quickly add a new blog post, select Blog Post from the list and a pop-up menu should appear. Once you've written your post and added a title click Publish Post to complete the process.

If you'd like additional options, such as uploading a file with your post or choosing tags, you can click the More Options link that appears on the Quick Add pop-up window. You can also access this page by clicking on the "My Page" tab, clicking on the "My Blog" link that appears just underneath, and then clicking on the "Add Blog Post" link. Once you write your first entry in your blog, this link will remain on the top right of your My Page.

There are a few ways that you can upload photos to a network.

The easiest way is to use the Quick Add feature. When signed into a network you should see the Quick Add drop-down menu near the top of the right column. To quickly add photos, select Photos from the list and a pop-up menu should appear. Click the Browse button to locate your photo on your computer. Once you've selected your photo/s click Upload Photos to complete the process.

If you'd like to upload more than 4 photos at once or you want to include meta information such as title, author, and privacy settings for each photo you can use the Bulk Media Uploader. To use the bulk uploader just follow the following steps:

1. Sign into the network.
2. Go to the Photos section.
3. Click the "Add Photos" link in the upper right corner.
4. By default, you'll be able to use the bulk uploader to add up to 100 songs at a time to the network. The first time you use the uploader, you'll see a pop-up window that says "This applet was signed by Ning Inc and authenticated by VeriSign Inc. Do you trust this certificate?" Click the "Trust" button to proceed.

   

5. In the left pane, find the photos on your computer. To upload them, double click on a photo or drag and drop a photo or a whole folder to the right pane title "Photos to Upload."

   

   You can drag and drop the photos within the right preview pane to re-order them. To remove photos, you can drag and drop them outside of the preview pane or highlight them and press the "Delete" key.

6. Once you're ready to upload, click the "Next" button.
7. Add information about the photos and select who will be able to view the photos. To apply the same information to all of the photos in the batch, fill out the top portion under "Edit Information for All Photos." Then click the button to "Apply this info to the photos below." You can individually override this information by filling out individual photo information below the batch edit.

   

   If you're experiencing issues with the bulk uploader, you can always use the simple uploader by clicking the link to "Return to our simple uploader" at the bottom of the page.

   You can also add photos by phone or email. At the bottom of the "Add Photos" page, click on the "More Information" link for a unique email address to use to add photos to the network. The subject of the email becomes the title of the photo and the body becomes the description.

The easiest way is to use the Quick Add feature. When signed into a network you should see the Quick Add drop-down menu near the top of the right column. To quickly add a video, select Video from the list and a pop-up menu should appear. Click the Browse button to locate your video file on your computer. Alternatively, you can add a video from a video service, such as Vimeo, YouTube or Google Video, by copying the embed code for the video into the embed field. Once you've selected your video click Add Video to complete the process.

If you'd like to upload multiple videos at once or you want to include meta information such as title, author, and privacy settings for each video you can use the Bulk Media Uploader. To use the bulk uploader just follow the following steps:

If you would like to add videos from YouTube, Google or most other video sites, navigate to the site with the video you want and grab the HTML "embed" code to add the video to your network. Click on the "Add Video" link at the bottom of the "Add Videos" page that's under the headline "Add videos from YouTube or Google."

Then paste the HTML code in the box:

You can also add videos by phone or email.

There are a couple of ways that you can share content that you find on a network.

The easiest way is to use the Quick Add feature. When signed into a network you should see the Quick Add drop-down menu near the top of the right column. To quickly share a page on a network, select Share from the list and a pop-up menu should appear. You can choose to share the page with a number of popular web services by clicking on the icon for your preferred service. A new window should open that will take you to your chosen web service's website where you can finish the submission process. When you are done you can return to the network and click the Done button on the share pop-up window.

Alternatively, you can use the Quick Add Share feature to send a message to your friends, with a link to the shared page. Simply add their email addresses, separated by commas, to the Send To field and click the Share This Page button.

You can also share content that you find on a network with your friends by clicking the "Share" link that appears below most content, such as photos:

If you are not a member of the network or not signed in, you will have the option to share a link to the content or to send via email. If you are a member and signed into the network, you will have additional options to send the content to your friends on Ning or to people in your email address book.

The Quick Add feature offers a quick and easy way to add content to a network. When signed into a network you should see the Quick Add drop-down menu near the top of the right column. You can use Quick Add to add new blog posts, forum discussions, events, music, photos, and videos.

To add new content using Quick Add simply select the type of content you'd like to add from the drop-down list and a pop-up menu should appear. Enter text into the fields or select the file/s you'd like to upload.

If you decide you'd like additional options just click the More Options link and you will be taken to the standard page for adding content. In most cases the information you've already entered will be automatically populated in the corresponding fields.
